2020 Taō del Toro, Paso Robles Blend (50% Tempranillo, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon) ( alc. 15.0% by Vol) Oak: 60% French, 40% Romanian
Tempranillo is always represented by the Toro ( Bull). It is the big Bull of Spain. In this blend, I paired it with the big Bull of California, Cabernet Sauvignon. You would think the two would clash horns but they compliment each other quite well. A monster of a wine and a Steakhouse dream come true. The Cab is in 100% French oak but my secret is using Romanian oak from the Carpathian Mountains on most of the Tempranillo. It really brings out the sexy mouthfeel in the temp. Pair with Grilled Ribeye with creatives rubs over an open fire.
