Anton Stone Russian River Valley Chardonnay
The 2023 Anton Stone Russian River Chardonnay. ( 80% Stainless Steel 20% New French Oak) Russian River Valley is one of my favorite regions for Chardonnay. The sedimentary soils full of cobblestones offer an amazing range stones and minerals that create complex fruit flavors. The region is influenced by the fog and cool weather coming off the Pacific Ocean however being in the valley and protected by the Sonoma Coastal range the vineyards are not exposed to the windy conditions that are so prevalent in Monterey regions. This translates into bigger fruit and more opulent-style chardonnay. Rich Pear & Apple flavors speak in volumes finished with a touch of sexy French oak for added complexity and grace.
